A Misty Mountain Wedding

We spent a nice sweet and simple day with Beth and Calvin at the Silvertip Golf Course and Resort. The resort sits on the north side of the Trans Canada Highway, just outside of Canmore. Silvertip, with its rustic architecture and renowned golf course, overlooks a beautiful valley in the Canadian Rockies. The scenery is breathtaking, and the gazebo that overlooks the valley makes a memorable spot to say your ‘I do’s’.

We met Beth and Calvin at Silvertip, where they were growing concerned about the looming weather. The day before had been fairly stormy, so needless to say, the couple kept an eye on the ever-changing forecast.

Thankfully, the weather held up for their ceremony, and the misty rains in the distance stayed away until the very end.

Their Ceremony at Silvertip Resort

The ceremony was incredibly beautiful. Strathmore Florist provided the exquisite floral arrangements, and a string duet brought the scene alive with music. Beth came down the aisle in her dress from Durand Bridal, looking gorgeous with hair and makeup by Rapunzel’s Salon Spa. The ceremony, officiated by Yvonne Way, was short and sweet. The couple shared personal vows in the gazebo overlooking the Rockies. In a touching gesture, Calvin presented Beth’s daughter with a charm bracelet. He pledged to not only love and take care of her mother, but to be the best dad to her that he can be.

At the end of the ceremony we took a group photo of everyone in attendance, the mountains as a beautiful backdrop. Afterwards everyone was treated to a champagne toast, and the staff at Silvertip were sure that everyone had a fresh glass of bubbly.

The Creative Formals at Silvertip Resort

The misty rains hit us during family photos, but despite the little chill, everyone was in excellent spirits. Beth was a great sport, and was determined to do their creative formal photos outside. We used the beautiful pine trees and vibrant fall colours to our advantage. Even though the sky continued to threaten rain, it made for some moody shots with the newlyweds. We used the areas in and around the gazebo for the photos, and even ventured into a few more forested areas. We rounded out the shoot with Beth and Calvin on the Silvertip balcony, overlooking the awe inspiring, mountain crested valley.

Before the reception, the Radmore’s headed down to Stoney’s Bar and Grill for a small break, and to spend some quiet time together.
